The base is made of stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance, while the powder coated aluminum top plate adds contrast and customization options. Dont be confused by others that offer a top plate that requires you to cut and modify the OEM (707900644 / 707900463) plastic shifter, or the steel versions that others have in the marketplace that are prone to rust.
